Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
Charles Spurgeon said, “A man’s life is always more forcible than his speech. When men take stock of him they reckon his deeds as dollars and his words as pennies.” I take from this that the actions of our lives need to reflect the message we are sharing. When we fail to live as we should, people won’t listen to us like they could!
It is very clear in the Bible how we are called to live out our Christian lives. I heard it once said how ridiculous it would have been if when the shepherds came to visit Jesus in the manger that Mary and Joseph were complaining about the raw deal they had been given 🙂
Everything about our lives – our speech, our responses and our relationships either backs up or discredits the message of the gospel. We know that the central message of the Bible is that Jesus came to save us from our sins and as Nic spoke last week, we have been commissioned to actively share this message. However if our lives are not what they should be, we will certainly not be as effective in seeing people come to the Lord as we could be. Let’s live in such a way that our conduct matches and strengthens our witness to others.
With love & blessings, Sandra
