Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
For many of us the discipline of waiting isn’t one of our strong suits. We’re more of a “let’s get it done NOW” kind of person. But being able to wait and learning how to wait is extremely important to God. We live in a culture where we need something, we want something and we want it now! So often our reaction is to become impatient. Impatience leads to grumbling. Grumbling feeds our bad attitude. Our bad attitude clouds our judgement. We make rash decisions. We do stupid things. We damage relationships. The alternative is knowing that there is great value in God’s eyes in waiting patiently.
Lamentations 3:25,26 The Lord is good to those who wait for him. He is good to those who look for him. It is good to wait quietly for the Lord to save them.
So for God, it’s not just that we wait. It’s about how we wait. Do we wait with a bad attitude or do we wait for God? Are we looking out expectantly for Him to show up or are we putting our trust in worldly things? Are we waiting quietly for the Lord to save us … or are we running around behaving badly? When we have to wait, how do we wait? ..It is good to wait quietly for the Lord to save you.
With love & blessings,
Sandra
