Welcome to Beckenham Baptist Church — a community of people of all ages and backgrounds, right in the heart of Beckenham at 146 Colombo Street.
We’re here because we believe Jesus changes lives. Our mission is simple: Making Disciples — helping people discover who Jesus is, grow in faith and live out His call in everyday life.
There’s something happening for everyone at Beckenham Baptist, from Life Groups and Children’s Ministry to Cheesy Tuesday, Prayer Meetings and other opportunities to connect, serve and grow together.
Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years, are just beginning to explore faith, or aren’t sure what you believe, you are welcome here. Come and meet us, ask questions, make connections and discover what it means to be part of a community centred on Jesus.

Parking is available behind the church, with access from 7a Percival Street.

We would love to have you join us!
We hold our worship services at 10am Sundays, with a children's programme for ages 2-12. Under 2's are welcome in our creche area at the back of the church.
The entrance is off 7 Percival Street – there is parking in the large carpark at the rear of church.
Communion is held on the 1st Sunday of each month.
SPREADING THE WORD
Missions
Every Saturday morning at 10:30am, a team of people go out to hand out gospel tracts and preach the gospel on the streets of Christchurch.
Jesus Club is a lunchtime meeting held at Cashmere High School on Thursdays in S5. Jesus Club's primary goal is to share the Gospel with the unsaved at Cashmere High.
A Ministry of Beckenham Baptist Church for Seniors. We warmly invite you to join with us for an afternoon of fun, friendship and singing of Christian songs, followed by afternoon tea.
Cheesy Tuesday is a welcoming gathering held fortnightly on Tuesday mornings from 10:00am–11:00am in the church lounge at the front of the hall.
Our Kids Holiday Programmes are kids aged 7-12, our focus is to share the truth of Jesus with unsaved kids in our community.
Finding your crew can be tough, but we’ve got a seat saved just for you. Come hang out in a relaxed, high-energy environment where we mix massive fun with honest conversations about God, life, and everything in between.
We have an extensive overseas mission focus covering more than one country, our mission team meets to determine prayer support, sending of missionaries and allocation of resources for mission overseas.

Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for morning tea.
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges God has given His people. Through prayer, we draw near to our Heavenly Father, bring our needs before Him, seek His wisdom and intercede for others. Prayer is not simply something we do as individuals; it is also an essential part of our life together as the church.
Throughout Scripture, we see God’s people gathering to pray. In Acts 4:31, when the believers prayed together, they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God boldly. Their united prayers strengthened their faith and reminded them that their help came from the Lord.
When the whole church gathers to pray, we express our dependence on God and our shared desire to see His purposes fulfilled. We pray for our church family, our community, those who do not yet know Jesus, and the work of the Gospel. We encourage one another and stand together in faith.
Let us make gathering for prayer a priority, coming with expectant hearts, knowing that our Father hears us. To that end I would love to encourage you to come to our weekly Thursday 12 noon and our monthly 3rd Wednesday evening at 7:30pm prayer meetings. May we never underestimate what God can do through a praying church.

PRAYER MEETINGS
We have a weekly prayer meeting in the church lounge on Thursdays from 12:00pm – 1:00pm
We also have a monthly prayer meeting every third Wednesday of the month from 7:30pm-8:30pm in the church lounge
