Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
We all need to be reminded that unforgiveness can creep into the secret places in our heart and we can give a place to it without even recognising what it is. That is why we must regularly (if not daily!) ask God to reveal any unforgiveness in us. The Bible says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” One of the greatest iniquities we often keep in our heart is unforgiveness. It’s very easy to do. We can even lie to ourselves and pretend it isn’t there. We can also hide it from others. Sometimes we don’t see it because we try so hard to be the good person we want to be, and unforgiveness can be very subtle. But God always sees it, and He doesn’t like it. He wants us to get rid of it, and sometimes He will even wait to answer our prayers until we do.
The wonderful news is that through the incredibly powerful work of the cross we can be forgiven. Jesus has paid the price for us. Let us keep short accounts with God and regularly examine our hearts so that we don’t hold any unforgiveness in our hearts. This is key to allowing the Holy Spirit to flow through us and lead us into all Christ has for each one of us.
Blessings,
Sandra
