The pressure these days to depart from the truth, to put aside what God tells us is right, and to treat it as outdated church teachings is increasing. Do you ever feel like you’re constantly swimming against the flow of everything around you as society moves to a ‘lower’ level?
If you believe in Jesus, if you take Him at His Word, if you’ve made Christ Lord of your life – over all things, then it is inevitable that the world is going to hate you for it – or at least demean and make fun of you. In Matt 5:10-12 Jesus says “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven.”
Conformity is doing what everybody else is doing, regardless of what is right. Morality, on the other hand, is doing what is right, regardless of what everybody else is doing. Let’s choose what’s right, for our reward in heaven will be great!
