Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
Scripture tells us that the purpose of our lives as followers of Jesus is to glorify God. This means that as believers, we honour and serve God with all of our lives, our natural gifts, our resources, our bodies, our worship and our decisions. Within the greater purpose of glorifying God, we find our purpose in what we do every day as we seek to fulfil the Great Commission that Jesus has called us to. We are to carry out the good works God has already prepared for us to do. This is what Paul was talking about when he wrote, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we should walk in them” Eph 2:10
God has a specific plan and purpose for each one of us. Knowing this brings great peace and a sense of understanding that we don’t need to strive to be someone we are not. When we know who’s we are and who we are, we simply need to step out in faith and trust that God will lead us in the power of His Holy Spirit on the incredibly exciting and fulfilling mission He has for each of us. How strange that people spend their lives striving for meaning, purpose and enjoyment that God gives us freely – as a gift, when we choose to follow Him.
