Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
We all want to hear God’s voice, but how do you know if it’s God’s voice or your voice? When we do hear Him how do we respond? What does it look like to follow God on a daily basis? The key is ‘abiding in the Spirit’.
The word abide means to stay, to dwell, to remain, to continue or to live. In order to abide in the Spirit we have to have a continual dying of ourselves on a daily basis. Jesus clearly explains in Luke 9:23 -24 that ‘whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”
The only way we can die to our old nature is to fully rely on Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit in us. We are not created new in Christ to be independent and self sufficient. God wants us to depend on Him, regardless of our circumstances. He is sufficient to supply our every need.
