Welcome to our service today. It’s great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
Friendships make life enjoyable and difficult times bearable. Sometimes friendships can be tested AND strengthened by hardships. I am reminded of the 4 friends Jill spoke about a few weeks ago – Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who help us think about the real meaning of friendship. As much as these friends meant to each other, they never allowed their friendship to usurp God’s place in their lives—not even in the face of death.
When we leave God out of our most important relationships, we tend to expect those relationships to meet needs in us that only God can meet. Friends are great and necessary in our lives but they cannot meet our deepest spiritual needs. First and foremost before any other relationship is the relationship we have with God. HE calls us friend.
With love & blessings,
Sandra
