Being amongst a family who all play a musical instrument there is always much ‘tuning’ taking place before the actual playing begins. If we are practicing together then only once we are tuned can we make a ‘joyful’ noise! Sometimes with wind instruments it can take a bit of playing before the instrument can be fully tuned. And harmonies only sound good if everyone is in tune!
Our lives need to be constantly tuned – tuned to the voice of the Holy Spirit. If we let Him, God is constantly transforming our lives, reshaping us to conform to His perfect will – to His perfect pitch. We will never ‘make it’ but God isn’t looking for us to be perfect for there was only ever One who was perfect – Jesus Christ. But as we respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting in our lives we will become more in tune with Him and with one another.
May we individually and corporately be people who love God with everything we have and walk in tune with His Holy Spirit day by day.
