Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
Billy Graham once said that no matter where he went in the world to preach the gospel he could always count on five areas of human need that afflict all people.
The first is emptiness – we all cry out for something and we will never find it until we sincerely find God. The second is loneliness. People can be in a crowd or with friends and still feel lonely. We were created for God and without Him there is a sense of loneliness. Thirdly, there is guilt. All people have a sense of guilt and it can haunt them and play with their peace of mind. The fourth is fear of death. Even for Christians, death is a mystery however we know the promises that follow when we know Jesus in our hearts. Lastly there is deep-seated insecurity. People today clamour for security – material things are never enough.
As Christians, we are called to sound the warning, to call sinners to repentance and to tell about what Jesus did for each of us when He died on the cross to pay for our sins. When we know Jesus in our hearts these afflictions need not be any longer, for in Him we find everything we need.
Blessings,
Sandra
