Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
I am often asked by people about how they can know God’s will for their life. When I ask them a few basic questions it can be obvious why they are having difficulty discovering it!
I believe there are three key things we need to be doing if we are wanting to discover God’s will for our life. The first is reading the Bible. This is the inspired Word of God – direct to each one of us! God will never lead contrary to His Word so we need to make every opportunity to read it – on a daily basis. The second is to pray. God leads us through the illumination of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. We can sense God leading us by the Holy Spirit. The more often we pray and wait on God, the better we will get at hearing and discerning His voice. The third thing is to be using our gifts and talents, being faithful and loyal to what God has given us. I love the scripture in Luke that says ‘For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required’. Not everybody is called into full time Christian ministry but we are called to serve Christ where we are in our community or sphere of influence. If we are regularly applying these three principles in our life we will certainly have a much greater and clearer picture of the will of God for our life.
