I was listening to (and singing along!) Hark the Herald Angels Sing yesterday and one line jumped out at me – ‘God and sinners reconciled’. What an incredibly powerful phrase for all of humanity right there in those four words! After all, that is the reason God gave us His One and only Son. In 2 Cor 5:18 we read “…God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
So, as we look around this Christmas, remember all of this is from God, who reconciled sinners to Himself. Remember God also gave us the ministry of reconciliation, so whatever we do this Christmas, let’s not be shy about reminding everyone that Jesus is the reason for this season!
