Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
I love watching court room drama’s on television…..the courtroom scene, obscure arguing, behind the scenes plea bargaining and the verdict – Guilty! or not…..
But nothing we see in court room dramas could compare with the dreadful miscarriages of justice that we read in the Bible about Jesus. He had four judicial hearings – he was arraigned before the retired high priest Annas; tried and ‘convicted’ by the high council of the Jewish people and Caiaphas; sent for a hearing by ‘King’ Herod and finally sentenced again to death by crucifixion by Pilate.
And then God took the unjust guilty verdicts and let them be outworked – “The Lord has laid on Him the inequity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6)
What great news for us – Jesus swapped places with us and took our guilty verdict and we received His not guilty verdict. Oh what a Saviour!
With love & blessings,
Sandra
