Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
Whenever Easter approaches we find ourselves thinking about the death and resurrection of Jesus. The purpose of Christ’s life was to offer himself as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. The Bible says that Jesus became sin for us so that we could be forgiven and found righteous in God’s sight. Jesus was so certain of His purpose that He predicted when and how He would die.
This verse comes to mind as I reflect on Easter – Hebrews 12:2 “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Listen to those words….. ‘ who for the JOY set before Him’. Jesus wasn’t looking at the present – He was looking to the future and all that God had in store for Him as He was obedient to the Father and His will for Him.
And the same applies to us – we will endure hardships as we walk with Jesus but He promises us in His Word that He will never leave or forsake us…..and oh what JOY we will receive when we finally go to live with Him in Heaven.
HE IS RISEN – HE IS RISEN INDEED.
With love & blessings,
Sandra
