Someone recently gave me a small book titled “The Jabez Prayer”. In 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez cries out to God “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.” The book looks at the four aspects of the prayer and then encourages the reader to pray the same prayer each day and to note down over a period of time any answers to prayer or the changes that are happening as a result of the prayer. I decided to take on the challenge! Within the space of just 2 weeks I have begun to see the hand of God move in my life in new ways. It is exciting! It will be challenging! But it once again reminds me that God is only a prayer away and that regular, daily conversation with Him is so important. Prayer is like the breath in our lungs or water and food to our body – we can’t live our lives without it. It is the foundation that our lives need to be built on. Praise God He is ALWAYS ready to hear our prayers.
