Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for morning tea.

Self-control is not simply about willpower; it is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. Left to ourselves, we are easily swayed by impulses, temptations, and emotions. Yet in Christ, we are given the Spirit who empowers us to live differently – to say “no” to sin and “yes” to God’s will.

True self-control begins with surrender. When we submit our desires, appetites, and thoughts to the Lord, He strengthens us to walk in freedom rather than slavery to our flesh. This means controlling our words when anger rises, choosing purity when temptation calls, and practicing discipline in how we spend our time, money, and energy. Each act of Spirit-led self-control shapes us more into the image of Christ.

The world tells us to “follow your heart,” but God’s Word reminds us that the heart can be deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9). Instead, we are called to follow the Spirit, who leads us into life and holiness.

We must ask the Lord daily to help us yield our will to His. As we depend on His strength, we will discover that self-control is not a burden but a blessing, producing peace and victory.

With love & blessings,  Sandra
