Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for morning tea.
The season of Advent is upon us – a time of waiting and preparation as we anticipate the celebration of Christ’s birth. During this season, we focus on the arrival of our Saviour, both as the child in the manger and as the promised King who will return in glory.
In the busy rush of holiday preparations, Advent calls us to pause and reflect. It is a time to reflect in the hope we have in God’s promises, remembering that the coming of Jesus into the world was the fulfilment of centuries of anticipation. A popular tradition is to light Advent candles, reminding us of the hope, peace, joy, and love that Jesus brings to our lives and allowing them to shape our hearts and attitudes.
Advent is not only a time of remembering the first coming of Christ but also a season to prepare our hearts for His second coming. We are called to live in a posture of readiness, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Light of the World. May this Advent season deepen our faith, renew our joy, and fill our hearts with the expectation of His return.
Blessings, Sandra
