Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for morning tea.
Love is at the very heart of the Christian faith. God’s love is unconditional, sacrificial, and unchanging. He demonstrated this ultimate love by sending His Son, Jesus, to die for us while we were still sinners. This act of love calls us not only to receive God’s love but to reflect it in our lives.
In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul paints a beautiful picture of love – patient, kind, not envious, not boastful. This love isn’t just an emotion but it’s a choice, a commitment to care for others, even when it’s difficult. When we love, we mirror the heart of God, who is love itself.
True love, as modelled by Christ, is sacrificial. It requires humility, forgiveness and putting others before ourselves. As followers of Jesus we are called to love our neighbours, even our enemies, and to forgive as we have been forgiven.
May we all reflect on God’s great love for us and ask how we can show His love to those around us. May our lives be a testimony to the transformative power of the love of God as we walk out our faith in Him.
Blessings, Sandra
