15th September 2024

Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for morning tea.

Can you remember the children’s song “Stand up and shout if you love my Jesus?” It goes on to repeat each verse but with a different action – “Sit down and whisper if….”, “Go tell your neighbour if…”. I remember singing it with great energy as a young child.

As we get older, God doesn’t want us to lose our exuberance in worshipping Him. If we read through the Bible and highlighted all the physical acts used to reverence and praise our awesome God we would be highlighting a lot – standing, bowing, kneeling, prostrating, lifting hands, clapping, shouting…on and on we could go. In a world that regularly uses God’s name in vain, we need to stand up as believers and praise God for all He has done, is doing, and will do in the future. We need to be doing this not only in church on Sunday and throughout the week as we meet, but also in our daily devotional times (our personal worship) and in the way we live daily (our public worship). In Nehemiah 9:5-6 we read …..”Stand up and bless the Lord your God forever and ever! Blessed be Your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessings and praise!” Everyday, let’s bless and praise our God!

Blessings, Sandra
