23rd June 2024

Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for morning tea.

Throughout the book of 1st and 2nd Kings we see king after king ‘not do right in the Lord’s eyes’. They were evil and refused to follow His ways. They were given opportunity after opportunity to turn back to the Lord and to take down the high places but they refused and continued to live in their sin.

God sent prophets to warn them and priests to teach them how to live. God required that they fear Him and follow His statutes, ordinances, the law and His commandments. He called them to worship Him alone and not to forget the covenant He made with His people. He required them not to bow to other gods and idols. In return for living this way He would deliver them from the hand of all their enemies.

How are we doing in regards to the above? What and who is it that we worship? Can we truthfully say it is God alone? Are their idols in our lives that we are bowing down to? As I examine my own heart I encourage you to also do the same. God is looking for a ‘pure and spotless Bride’ and that starts with each one of us.

Blessings,

Sandra
