Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee. We are also having a shared lunch after the service so we warmly welcome you to stay and fellowship with us.
Just as we know that we cannot earn our salvation through striving to do good works, the same applies to growing in the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23).
The fruit of the Spirit is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit in us. It is the Spirit alone that produces these character traits that are found in the nature of Christ. They are the by-products of Christ’s control – we can’t obtain them by striving to get them without His help. If we want the fruit of the Spirit to grow in us, we must join our lives to Christ. We must know Him, love Him, remember Him and imitate Him in all areas of our life. As a result we will fulfill the intended purpose of the law – to love God and our neighbours as ourselves. What is one of the fruit of the Spirit you would like to become more like Jesus in? Ask God to develop this in your life through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Blessings,
Sandra
