Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
Sometimes we may feel that if the Holy Spirit leads us, it will always be “beside the still waters” (Psalm 23:2). But that is not necessarily true. The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness for a long and difficult time of testing, and He may also lead us into difficult situations. When facing trials, we must first make sure that we haven’t brought them on ourselves through some sin or unwise choices. It can be good to get wise counsel from people who know us well to give us some insight into this. If there is no sin to confess or unwise behaviour to change, then we need to ask God to strengthen us for the test. We must seek the Lord diligently and be careful to faithfully follow the Holy Spirit wherever He leads. Nobody enjoys being tested but it is through testing that we can be purified, learn valuable lessons and draw nearer to God who loves us and walks with us through these times.
Blessings,
Sandra
