Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.

Heroes are easier to admire than to define. They are seldom conscious of their moments of heroism, and others may not reconise their acts as heroic. Heroes simply do the right thing at the right time, whether or not they realise the impact their action will have. One quality they may share is a tendency to think of others before they think of themselves.

When I think of heroes, I think of some particular qualities – being sensitive to others needs, full of words of kindness, and offering help willingly. Heroes not only do what is right, but they also do it the right way in the situations they face. The Bible is full of ‘heroes of the faith’ who exhibit these and many more Godly qualities.

We are faced with choices on a daily basis. Sometimes we can be more concerned with making the easy choice than with making the right one. Yet, more often than not, the right choice is clear. We must be wise and ask God to give us a special awareness in our choices today as well as renewed commitment to make the right ones, even if it means going against the tide. He will give us the strength and courage we need to face the giants and pursue righteousness.

Blessings, Sandra
