Welcome to our service today. It is great to have you here and we would love to invite you to stay after the service and join us for tea and coffee.
God gives us gifts so we can build up His church. To use them effectively we must realise that all gifts and abilities come from God and also understand that not everyone has the same gifts. We also need to know who we are and what we do best and dedicate our gifts to God’s service and not to our personal success. We must also be willing to use our gifts wholeheartedly, not holding back anything from God’s service.
God’s gifts differ in nature, power and effectiveness according to His wisdom and graciousness, not according to our faith. God will give spiritual power necessary and appropriate to carry out each responsibility. We cannot by our own effort or willpower drum up more faith and therefore be more effective teachers or servants. These are God’s gifts to His church and He gives faith and power as He wills. Our role is to be faithful and to seek ways to serve others with what Christ has given us. If you are unsure of your spiritual gifts, talk to others who know you well and ask them what gifts they observe in you. We also have resources available that will help you identify them if you need help. Let us not waste time in using what God has given to each of us in order to see His Kingdom come.
