There is a biblical principle that the ‘multiplying of partnership in prayer, multiplies the dimension of impact’. It is taken from the Lord, who said that five will chase a hundred, and a hundred will put ten thousand to flight (Leviticus 28:8). It is not a matter of saying God is obligated because of the number, but there is a penetrating power when there is agreement in prayer. Agreeing is like striking notes in harmony. The words ‘one accord’ convey the idea of people all having the same temperature – the same degree of passion and the same degree of focus.
This reality calls us to pray together, believing the same way about what is possible. This is one of the reasons I love our weekly and monthly prayer meetings. We get focused and pray specifically for situations that the Lord leads us to. To this end I would encourage us all to make an effort to get to either the weekly Thursday prayer meeting at 12 noon or the monthly (3rd Wednesday) prayer meeting at 7:30pm – which is this coming week on the 19th July.
