Many have accepted Christ as Saviour yet are not living according to His plan and will. This was the sin of the Hebrew children who knew full well the miracle-working power of their God and had experienced His supernatural provision. They had received manna from heaven, water from a rock, a miraculous rescue from Pharoah and more. Yet again and again they turned away from Him. This unwillingness to walk in God’s ways caused the entire generation that escaped from Egypt to die in the wilderness without ever experiencing the Promised Land.
Believers today have been given much more than the Israelites. We have been given the very Bread of Life, salvation provided by Jesus Himself. He has saved us, cleansed us from our sins, adopted us into His family, given us His Word as our guide, His Holy Spirit as our Comforter and everything pertaining to life and godliness. We have been given so much, and Jesus said, “To whom much is given, from him much will be required” (Lk 12:48) What are we doing with the much we have been given?
